Innovation
Animated short created while at Texas A&M. Procedural asset credit, texture credit, partial lighting credit, partial animation credit, partial story and look development. Our team started by trying to tackle our vision to what would be the embodiment of “engineering.” I personally enjoy tackling abstract concepts like this.

I got to work by creating the procedural gears laid throughout our scene. I also took the time to direct and teach our underclassman on how to best model, UV unwrap, light, and animate. All the UV unwraps and textures were done by myself as I enjoy trying to solve the problem of how to best unwrap an object. When I thought about the textures, it was a matter of a juxtaposition of the old with the new and showing the progress that comes with engineering. I also made sure the character textures stood out amidst the background and the props did not stand out too much. Animating the pile of gears forming in the beginning was a tedious process, but like all animations, was very rewarding in the end.
